3 jours a Madrid et c’est l’atterrissage à Orly, un an jour pour jour après notre départ.
L’arrivée est très joyeuse et pleine de surprises, avec notamment … la grossesse de Sophie ! Et ce n’est qu’un début, car pendant 4 semaines, entre les grossesses en cours et les bébés 2006, on va de surprises en surprises.
On passe 5 jours à Paris, puis une semaine à Lille, une à Nantes et une à Montauban, de festins en festins.
Enfin, 2 jours à Lyon, puis une semaine au Grand Bornand, pour terminer nos vacances.
Et puis, c’est le retour à la vraie vie : Olivier s’arrête à Paris, où il retrouve un job dans la même société qu’avant son départ. Un CDD jusqu’à fin août, idéal pour se remettre dans le rythme, tout en conservant notre objectif d’installation en province.
Ségolène continue l’aventure, jusqu’à Lille pour l'instant : retour chez Papa et Maman, pour se faire dorloter pendant sa recherche d’emploi.
Du coup, après un an ensemble, on vient de passer une semaine séparés… quel changement !
Heureusement, entre les petites sœurs et les amis, ce ne sont pas les pieds à terre qui manquent à Paris pour les week-ends, en attendant de se trouver un petit studio pour les 6 prochains mois… d’ailleurs, si vous avez des bons plans, on est preneurs !
Après 5 semaines, le voyage paraît déjà loin. Heureusement, des images nous reviennent régulièrement, par flash et cela fait vraiment du bien !!!

Our first step back in Europe was Madrid where we stayed 3 days. We landed in Orly on the 5th of January. We learned that Sophie (Olivier’s sister) was pregnant which was a great surprise! It was the first one but not the last. In total, when we got back we discovered 4 pregnancies and a baby that we didn’t know of. The statistics say that the birth rate in France is improving, we have no doubt about it. Not only can we see what 2007 will bring but we missed no less than 8 births in 2006 amongst our friends and family. It’s all good news and gets our minds off the trip which already seems far away.
After Paris we went to Lille, Nantes and Montauban enjoying great French food and wine. We then went to Lyon and carried on to Le Grand Bornand for a week skiing. A year travelling is tiring, we needed holidays ;).
We have now been back for a week. Olivier stays in Paris where he found a contract until the end of August in his old company. It’s perfect to start again until we set up in a provincial city. Sego spends her time between Lille and Paris looking for a new job either short term in Paris or long term elsewhere.
We had a great year and we are now happy to be back and settle down, with thousands of images in our heads…
